II.Background

ERBB2 (HER2), erb-b2 receptor tyrosine kinase 2, is an EGFR receptor tyrosine kinase that activates PI3K-AKT-mTOR and RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK pathways, therefore regulating growth and transformation (PMID: 17471238).
